Privacy. The article, published in 1960 by William L. Prosser, outlines four torts that would allow someone whose privacy was violated in one of those four ways to sue the perpetrator for damages.

On January 31, 2024, Dr. Alessandro Acquisti, Trustees Professor of Information Technology and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University's Heinz College, and the co-director of the CMU Center for Behavioral Decision Research (CBDR), delivered a presentation on the Economics of Privacy in the context of augmenting economic arguments with non-economic considerations in order to address the broad concept of privacy.

RO100 FERPA at U-M. This 30-minute eLearning course teaches U-M faculty, researchers, staff, and students how to responsibly handle student data in accordance with FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act).

Student Privacy at the U.S. Department of Education. The U.S. Department of Education administers and enforces student privacy laws such as the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA). The Department of Education also provides technical assistance to help schools and school districts safeguard information about students.
